We were invited to manage these unique spaces and carry out their restoration.
The premises will be a CENTRE OF CULTURE - FUN - SOCIAL EVENTS with the possibility of renting from 10 to 1,000 people. The monastery, which was founded in 1232 by Vaclav I, is located just a minute's walk from the Old Town Square. Czech monarchs have ruled from here, and history has passed through here. The Přemyslid dynasty ended here after 400 years and the Luxembourg dynasty took over for 100 years.
This history and the work of many people across generations and centuries is part of the legacy of our Building a Proud Czech Republic program, which defacto shows what we as Czechs, despite all obstacles, can ultimately create. It is a legacy that continues to influence us. We are part of this cycle, and we are also leaving a legacy for the near and distant future through the revival of the monastery premises. We will preserve the genus loci, highlight the history of the building, and finally open it to the public for the first time in its eight-hundred-year history. We will gradually uncover and discover everything, but most importantly we will publish new plans and activities.
